You all obviously don't know JACK about electricity. As long as the water is not grounded or anything in contact with the water is not grounded they are perfectly safe. This would not work in something with metal plumbing such as a bathtub because the drain would ground the water but they are in a RUBBER inflatable pool. As long as they don't touch anything out side of the pool that is grounded while still in contact with the pool water they are safe. Even if they did ground the water I am sure a circuit breaker would trip preventing anything fatal.

I'm not 100% convinced. Water itself is an excellent sink for electricity. It itself could act as a ground here. Therefore, if you're anywhere near the plug, you could get electricity passing through you to spread out through the rest of the water.

LOL... this is simple electric engineering. These guys know what their doing (they must! this was a linux convention!) The water is not grounded being in a PVC pool and that is not mains voltage going in!
I'd assume they'd be using 240v -> 24v outdoor transformer (voltage goes down, current goes up - grill still works) which would also have a power guard so as soon as there was even a little earthage it'd pop.
A few splashes of water would not be enough to short 24v, submerge it and it'd pop the breaker though.

Jr. High and Ummmm...ok are right. wyldwyll your only experience with electricity is obviously only changing a light bulb and flipping a light switch. The laws of electricity are few and basic and anyone who spent over 10 min to learn about it could tell you that. "People fear what they do not understand", You must fear everything wyldwyll.

IF their electrics are functioning wel, what I think they are seen as it's a pretty fool proof system, they don't have to worry about a thing even if the bath is grounded.

They seem to have the outlets out of the water, and there may be a GFI but this is not a smart idea.

I doubt it's actually plugged in. But if it is, it's still a stupid idea. Though they may not be grounded, it only takes a fraction of a second before the circuit is complete. If you notice in the photo, the guy closest to the grill is pulling the wall of the pool dangerously close to the water. If he were to pull it a little further down to cause the water to pour out of the pool... well, let's just say that's when Darwin will kick in!

Yes the are in a PVC/Plastic pool and yes a tub the was is generaly ground throught the copper tubing. BUT!!!!!!! the Water will conduct electricity between the terminals of the strip plug the is floating. Porbably will blow the breaker before the possiblily or electricution but it is still possible for the water itself to be electrified and all it would take is one person outside the pool to put an arm in and the show would be over.

We use 120v. Those plugs are clearly 240v. If they are Americans they are NOT in United States of America.

What a dumb guys, both the people in the pool and on this forum. I am afraid that this is real, looking at the wooden support part they attached to the plug and the slippers. The worst thing is, they are probably thinking THEY are smart.
Besides the all the semi so called intelligent remarks on electricity, I think its clear to everyone that if a power cord with 240V falls into water despite of any breaker you WILL get a flash of 240 through your dumb ass (it will close circuit). Ever touched those threads in a farmfield? And did you wear rubber soles?
